where to begin...

last week started out with a bang literally! I was rear ended on I-5 only going about 20 but regardless it definitely shakes you up. The gentleman was really nice exchanged info and went on our way. The next day I called my Dr just as a precaution and of course I was told to come in for monitoring...uggh! So for the next hr I got to sit and listen to baby girls heartbeat to make sure she was a-ok! of course she was! phew!!! haha The truck is getting fixed this coming week...not much damage but you always want to keep nice stuff nice :) What else...Christmas duh...We went to mom and dads for our last Christmas as just the 5 of us...it was a really weird feeling but exciting all the same :) Next year we'll have Brook and Baby Girl Rose joining the fam!! fun times! anywho had a wonderful time much to short but much needed at the same time. Santa was very good to all of us as it seemed to be a practical year for gifts and not so much about "wants". Ate way to much food...and paid for it at my 28 wk appt...uggh! 22lbs up..yikes! Dr wasn't too concerned but wasn't too happy either. She really wants me to watch myself these last weeks and make sure that I am not gaining too much more. So what do I do..I came to work and ate a cinnamon roll...haha DR!!!! Baby girl is also measuring a wk ahead still so they are definitely monitoring that as time gets closer. Still no name! hopefully we can settle on one very soon.....k goodbye!

Casey and Brooke Engagement

So I am sure by now everyone knows that Casey asked...and Brooke said "yes"! I am so happy that Casey has found his life partner in someone that is so kind, outgoing just an all around amazing woman. It has been only 2 days and so much has been planned! I love that this girl takes after me and doesn't waste anytime getting things done :) I also got a phone call from Brooke today asking me if I would be a bridesmaid! It may seem small to many but I felt very honored that she felt that highly of me to have me stand up there with her and Casey at their wedding. I am very excited for the wonderful 2010 that lies ahead :)

24 wk checkup

I had my 24 wk appt today all of which went well :) Baby Girl is still growing and the heartbeat was strong! Dr. Albrecht did mention that my belly was measuring at 25 wks but that no need to worry about the possibility of going into labor early at this time! I am fine with early!!!! Perhaps another March 11 bday? hmmm.

We got our changing table today :) Thanks to mom and dad Rose!!!!!! I put it together and Matt helped with the finishing touches! The room is coming together!!!

Stroller

Aunt Kristy and Uncle Mike gave us such a wonderful gift of a new stroller for baby girl Rose :) Just thought I would share it :)

Baby Girls Room

We got all the bedding yesterday! Needless to say it was washed and put on in a very short amount of time :) It looks so darn cute! too bad there is still 16 wks to go...hmmm...are we too early? haha

Rose and Bates Families together for turkey day :)

Just got home from a lovely couple of days at mom and dads house with Matt's parents as well! We all gorged ourselves to the point of mass uncomfort, but once a year it's a must!

Dad got a ping pong table due to Casey's persistant requests, so all the men were out competing in the garage a good majority of the day. Dan and Erin, our good friends from Kansas who now live in Marysville we able to join us for turkey day. Played some board games while dad consistantly kept losing and blaming it on everyone else! It made for many laughs at his expense! There was a certain episode with a chair and pencil that no one would understand but my goodness, it was hysterical! sorry dad!

Good ol Black Friday! we left fairly early to check out a Whidbey Furniture in Oak Harbor to see if they had the glider that Matt and I had our eye one. They didn't have it but....she quoted us a price $250.00 less than what we had been quoted at another store! we got very excited so needless to say...we have a new glider!!! should be here mid January :) :) we are happy!

So now we are home dogs and in-laws are taking naps, Matts playing video games, and I am bored....what to do....here is a pic of the glider but we got it with different fabric :)

Baby Girls Bedding BOUGHT!!

Today I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy the "expensive" bedding for this tiny little girl that will be here soon. It's really cute and very neutral..ie. no PINK! It was the only one that Matt and I could truly decide on so i figured it was worth the wallet trauma :)

It's the Weekend

So i didnt know that I am actually suppose to keep up on this :) per Gramma Bates! haha

Matt and I for once don't have any plans :) He is going to go check out some potential side jobs this afternoon..yahoo! more money in the baby girl fund! We might go check out some gliders that my wonderful in laws have agreed to get us for the lil miss. Just a lazy Saturday!

1st Blog

So here we are...I have been told by many people that a "blog" is the way to go! I guess I'll just begin at the beginning....Matt and I have been together for almost 8 yrs, married for almost 4, we have 2 crazy dogs and a little baby girl on the way due March 2010. I think that gets everyone up to speed.

Today was my 20.5 wk appointment and Mama Bates got to go hear the heartbeat :) Still not showing too much, but gained 10 lbs! yuck! No movement yet but that is all due to how baby girl is positioned in my belly.

Guess thats it for now! pretty eventful huh??
